4 Stops You Should Make On Your Road Trip To Oregon

4 Stops You Should Make On Your Road Trip To Oregon

Oregon is so beautiful. Sadly, we haven’t had the chance to explore it in depth yet, but here are 4 activities we did and why you should consider doing them too!

  1. Samuel H Boardman State Scenic Corridor
  2. Mount Hood
  3. Smith Rock State Park
  4. Silver Falls State Park

Samuel H Boardman State Scenic Corridor

This stretch located between Brookings and Gold Beach along Highway 101 features many viewpoints and trailheads with many access to picnic areas. It is gorgeous, free, and you can explore it in many ways, making it fun for everyone.

Mount Hood

The view itself explains why you should go there. There are nice camping spots and activities available, but the main attraction is really just taking a good look at the mount.

Smith Rock State Park

Spending your day hiking in the park is so fun and so beautiful. You will get the best pictures at the bottom as well as the top. I would not say the hike to go all the way up is for beginners. Bring a lot of water and a little something to eat if you are going on a hot day like I did. You are directly under the sun for a few hours, and we all know how bad this can go.

You can end your day at the park’s campground. It only accepts walk-in camping with a small fee of 8 US dollars per person. This way you will get a view like this waking up.

Silver Falls State Park

This state park is a fun activity to do if you have the time but does not, in my opinion, have breathtaking views like the others. If you want to do a little hike in the forest to spend time in nature and see beautiful waterfalls, make space for it in your itinerary. If you don’t have much time, this is not a must.
