5 Of The Best Things To Do In Bruges

5 Of The Best Things To Do In Bruges

If you’ve decided to visit Bruges, you made an excellent decision. The city is known for its stunning architecture, cute streets and famous Christmas market. Even if you go during the summer, you won’t get bored, I promise you. Here a 5 of the best things to do in Bruges :

  1. St. Salvator’s Cathedral
  2. Museums (Choco-Story and Bruges Beer Experience)
  3. Grote Markt
  4. Take a boat ride on the canal
  5. Walk on Steenstraat Street

St. Salvator’s Cathedral

This cathedral is the oldest one in Bruges. It is free to visit. The interior is full of light because of the stained glass windows. They are absolutely beautiful. This cathedral is definitely worth a visit.

It should take you between 30 minutes and 1 hour to visit the St. Salvator’s Cathedral.

Museums (Choco-Story and Bruges Beer Experience)

There are many museums in Bruges, but I find that these two are the most interesting and different ones. I decided to visit only the Bruges Beer Experience, but you can totally do both.

This museum is about the history of beer in Belgium and the process of making the alcoholic beverage. The different presentations are interactive, so you can do them at your own pace.

The entrance fee for an adult without beer tasting is €13 (19$ CAD). With 3 tastings of 15cl each the price is €19 (28$ CAD). I highly recommend taking the ticket with 3 tastings.

It should take you between 1 and 2 hours to visit the museum.

Grote Markt

Grote Markt is the center of Bruges. During the summer, it’s full of stands and restaurants. During the winter, it’s the Christmas market. This market is one of the reasons why Bruges is famous.

It should take you between 30 minutes and 2 hours to enjoy this place.

Take a boat ride on the canal

This activity may make you think of Venice. I don’t think I need to say more than that. The fee for this activity is €12 (18$ CAD). The boat tours are about 30 minutes.

Walk on Steenstraat Street

This is the main pedestrian road in Bruges. It’s colorful and very cute with the cobbled streets. It’s perfect for shopping and spending some time outside. I love this street because there’s a great atmosphere.

It should take you between 30 minutes and 1 hour if you take your time to visit some shops.
