Explore Maya Bay
Visit this iconic beach that got famous by the movie “ The Beach” starring Leonardo DiCaprio and soak up the stunning scenery. The beach is surrounded by limestone cliffs, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and beautiful white sand.
To get there: Take a boat tour from the main pier in Tonsai Village. Just get there early, and they will tell you when the next ride is.
It is very popular, so if you don’t like crowds, I suggest you go either early in the day or later in the afternoon.
Snorkel or dive
The crystal-clear waters surrounding the island offer diverse marine life and colorful coral reefs that make breathtaking underwater landscapes. You can simply swim near the surface to catch some beautiful coral reefs with tropical fish. If you’re new to it, there are plenty of guided trips you can participate in for all skill levels. The prices will vary depending on the companies, so make sure to look around before booking anything.

Watch a fire show on the beach
Fire shows are a popular attraction on the beaches, especially during the evenings. They happen on most beaches, but a good option would be the main beach, Ton Sai Bay. The show itself is amazing, but if you dare, you can participate. After they’re done doing their show, they often do either fire limbo or fire jump rope. Obviously, please don’t participate if you are drunk.
Hike to Koh Phi Phi viewpoint
This one is really popular. Same as most hikes, going up is a little challenging but the breathtaking panoramic view of the island and its surrounding beauty will make it worth your while.
Go kayaking
You can rent a kayak on almost every beach. The prices will vary depending on how many hours you rent it for but it’ll be around 5$ CAD an hour. You honestly don’t need any itinerary because you will 100% find something beautiful if you follow the coastline. We started our kayak trip in front of our hostel, which was around Runtee Beach, simply followed the coastline and ended up at Nui Beach. It was incredible.
Enjoy Long Beach
Long Beach is less crowded if you compare it to most beaches on the island. It makes it a great spot for relaxation and tranquility.
Take a boat tour to Koh Phi Phi Leh
Koh Phi Phi Leh is Koh Phi Phi Don’s small neighbor. You can pay for tours that will stop at iconic places like Maya Bay, Viking Cave, and Pileh Lagoon. There are also snorkeling options. Due to its popularity, it can get pretty crowded, especially during high season.
Experience the nightlife
Nightlife in Koh Phi Phi is amazing, especially for young travelers. Chances are high that the party will start at your hostel and will go on for hours. Remember the names Slinky Beach Bar and Ibiza Pool Party if you want to be near the action. All the great bars are on that same beach. Take a drink bucket, jump in the nasty pool at Ibiza Pool Party, walk on the beach to visit the other bars, whatever you do, you will have an amazing night!
