Canggu is truly a paradise for surfers, food lovers, and, above all, digital nomads—people who work online and don’t need a fixed home. The accommodation options cater to all budgets, and the area is full of life. It’s impossible to get bored in Canggu. Here are 8 of the best things to do in Canggu to help you plan your itinerary.
- La Brisa Farmers Market
- Surfing
- Beach Clubs
- Pura Tanah Lot
- Eat, Eat, Eat

La Brisa Farmers Market
Every Sunday, there’s a lively gathering of artisans and makers at La Brisa Farmers Market. If you’re interested in natural and handmade products, this place is for you.
2
Surfing
Canggu offers some great spots for surfing beginners in Bali. While the beaches may not be the prettiest, the fun of surfing more than makes up for it. If you’re a more advanced surfer, don’t worry—there are still plenty of great waves for you to catch.
For good surf spots, Echo Beach is excellent for intermediate surfers, while Batu Bolong Beach is best for beginners. Although I didn’t take surf lessons in Canggu, I did in Kuta and loved it. Many people say the experiences are very similar. Prices for lessons are quite affordable, especially compared to places like Costa Rica.

Beach Clubs
Contrary to popular belief, beach clubs are for everyone—not just party-goers. During the day, they offer a peaceful atmosphere where you can easily spend the entire day.
My favorite beach club is definitely FINNS Beach Club. This spot is legendary and will make you feel like you’re in a truly luxurious place. It has a relaxed vibe during the day, which transitions into an incredible party scene at night. Although it can be an expense, it’s worth it. Traveling on a budget, I was initially hesitant to go, not realizing that the entrance fee is actually more of a minimum spend. Depending on where you reserve, the entrance fee may vary, but it works the same way. If you pay $50 CAD for your entrance, any food or drinks you order will only start being charged after you’ve spent $50 CAD. So, in the end, it’s not as expensive as it seems. I could go on and on about my amazing experience there.
Another great spot is The Lawn, which is more relaxed but can still host a good party. La Brisa is probably the prettiest beach club in Canggu, though I didn’t have the chance to visit. I’ve heard wonderful things about it, but it doesn’t seem to be a party place, so keep that in mind.
4
Pura Tanah Lot
This is apparently a must-see that I, unfortunately, missed. That’s why I’m telling you, so you don’t miss out like I did! Be sure to bring a camera because this place is stunning. Since it’s so popular, it’s often crowded with tourists. Pura Tanah Lot is a beautiful temple perched on the edge of the Indian Ocean. There is an entrance fee of 60,000 IDR ($5.16 CAD).

Eat, Eat, Eat
I keep saying this: the food in Bali is incredible! No matter where you go, the food is delicious and very affordable. Make sure to try new foods and restaurants. While the local cuisine is fantastic, there are also plenty of international options, including Italian, Mexican, Greek, and more. Bonus: there are many vegan options and even dedicated vegan restaurants.
6
Relax on the Beaches
As I mentioned earlier, Canggu’s beaches aren’t the nicest in Bali. While the vibe is great due to the surfers’ energy, the water and sand don’t compare to the beaches in Nusa Dua or Uluwatu.
Here are some of the best beaches in Canggu: Batu Bolong Beach (the most popular), Berawa Beach, and Echo Beach.
7
Party! (The Best Party Place in Bali, in My Opinion)
I had so much fun partying in Canggu! Places like Luigi’s, Old Man’s, The Lawn, and Sand Bar (my favorite) are definitely worth visiting. Each spot has a different vibe, and they’re all relatively close to each other. Start your night wherever you like, but the best place to end it is at Sand Bar, where the bar stays open until 3 am every night.

Shopping
No matter what you’re looking for, you can find it in Canggu. Whether it’s luxury, handmade, or vintage items, Canggu has it all. While shopping isn’t necessarily a must-do activity while traveling, if it’s something you enjoy, now you know that Canggu is a great place for it.
