Tiger Cave Temple – Get ready for a workout!
Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea) is one of the most important Buddhist temples in Krabi. Named after the tiger paw prints found in the cave, it’s a place of both natural beauty and spiritual significance. Visitors can often see monks living and meditating here.
The temple is renowned not only for its stunning views but also for its challenging 1,237-step staircase. The climb is intense, but from what we heard, the reward is well worth the effort.
Our Experience
When I say we weren’t ready for this… I mean it! We had a bad habit of skipping breakfast, and unfortunately, it cost us the chance to see this incredible temple.
However, don’t make the same mistake we did—go prepared! You absolutely need to eat something beforehand and carry plenty of water. The heat can be overwhelming, so make sure you’re ready for this unforgettable experience.
2
Railay Beach
Railay Beach is famed for its breathtaking beauty. This secluded paradise is only accessible by boat due to the towering limestone cliffs that surround it. The beach offers crystal-clear turquoise waters, soft white sand, and dramatic cliffs that make it a haven for rock climbers.
It is more than just a tourist spot; it’s also home to a local community and serves as a gateway for rock climbers from around the world. The limestone cliffs here are world-renowned for their challenging routes, making it a prime destination for both novice and experienced climbers.
Whether you’re in the mood to relax, try rock climbing, or simply take in the stunning views, Railay Beach is a must-visit in Krabi.
How to get there: Because it’s so popular, just head to the nearest beach, where you’ll find boats ready to take you. The cost is typically around 100-150 Thai Baht per person.

Dance the Night Away: If you’re in the mood to dance all night, Ao Nang Center Point is the place to be. This complex offers multiple clubs under one roof, ensuring a vibrant and diverse clubbing experience.
Fun fact: We’ve had an amazing time there. The building was always buzzing with energy, thanks to the variety of clubs available.
Pub Crawls: Check out pub crawls offered by local hostels—but keep in mind, they usually come with a fee. A little tip from us: if you’re on a budget, just follow a group wearing pub crawl t-shirts and join in on the fun. (Shh, don’t tell anyone!)

Take a Dip in the Emerald Pool
Also known as Sra Morakot, the Emerald Pool is a natural hot spring located in the Khao Phra Bang Khram Nature Reserve. The water is naturally heated by underground volcanic chambers, and taking a dip in the mineral-rich waters is said to have therapeutic properties. A wooden walkway leads you to the pool, and facilities such as changing rooms are available nearby.
The Emerald Pool is not just a tourist attraction but a significant part of the local ecosystem. The surrounding forest is home to various species of plants and wildlife, and the natural spring waters are revered for their healing qualities.
Best way to go
You can join a guided tour or visit independently. The entrance fee is around 200 Thai Baht per person. For the best experience, visit early in the morning to avoid crowds and soak up the peaceful atmosphere.

Discover the Phi Phi Islands
The Phi Phi Islands are about 45 km from Krabi and are a popular day-trip destination, with a ferry ride taking only 45 minutes to an hour. While a day trip can give you a taste of these beautiful islands, I personally believe spending more time there is worth it.
The Phi Phi Islands gained global fame after being featured in the movie The Beach. Maya Bay, in particular, has become one of the most iconic destinations in Thailand. However, to preserve its beauty, the Thai government has implemented measures to protect the fragile ecosystem, including temporary closures of the bay to allow coral reef restoration.
