Welcoming, historic, beautiful, captivating, and unforgettable—these words truly describe Bosnia and Herzegovina. The country’s charm is further enhanced by the warmth and openness of its people, leaving a lasting impression. In this guide, I’ll share some of my favorite places in Bosnia and Herzegovina and offer tips on how to make the most of your visit.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is a bit different from other European countries. Unlike many other destinations, there are primarily two cities where you’ll want to stay and explore in depth: Mostar and Sarajevo. Other well-known spots are best enjoyed as day trips from these cities.
At first, I was unsure about this approach, as I’m used to exploring several cities in any European country. However, I found it refreshing to settle in one place for a few days while discovering other regions of this amazing country. Whether you’re interested in history, nature, or food, Bosnia and Herzegovina has something for everyone.

- Sarajevo – Ideal for Discovering Historic Landmarks
- Blagaj – Scenic Monastery on the Buna River
- Kravica Waterfall – Great for Experiencing Natural Beauty
