If you’re craving that comforting, homemade feel, Rincón Típico is the place to be. This cozy gem serves up hearty Guatemalan dishes that feel like a warm hug. From juicy roasted meats to fresh tortillas made right in front of you, every bite is a taste of local tradition. Plus, the laid-back vibe and friendly faces make you feel like you’re dining at a friend’s house.
Personal Experience: This spot came highly recommended by a local woman when we asked for an authentic eatery. As a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised to find a vegetarian plate—it was tasty, but admittedly, this isn’t quite the place for plant-based options, haha! Léonie, on the other hand, was blown away by the quality and juiciness of the chicken. For anyone craving a warm and flavorful local experience, we can’t recommend this place enough.

Las Tres Amigas

Las Tres Amigas has quickly become a popular spot for food lovers, thanks to its menu packed with delicious dishes that are as flavorful as they are beautifully presented. The restaurant’s lively atmosphere, complete with live music and sports on the big screen, makes it a fun and inviting place to dine. One unique feature that stands out is their beer tasting station, which adds a special touch to the experience. Everyone appreciates their generous portions and reasonable prices.
Personal Experience: Although we’re not big beer drinkers, the massive self-serve beer wall here definitely made an impression—plus, they even offer alcohol-free options! I was also pleasantly surprised by the quality of their plant-based meat. After nine years as a pescatarian, I’ve tried countless plant-based products, and this one was exceptionally tasty. We visited during the day, so we missed the busier, lively evening vibe, but the atmosphere was still fantastic.
