In my opinion, these are the best hostels I have tried in Spain. They are all well rated. However, I give you all the pros and cons because nothing is perfect. Follow along as I tell you all the information there is to know about them.

Sevilla: Black Swan Hostel Sevilla – 9.3★ on Hostelworld
My stay: from November 25 to November 29 2022.
Price: €71 for 4 nights, so €17.75/per night (26$ Canadian/per night).
Location: Black Swan is located on C/ Bilbao 8-10, 41001 Sevilla.
Pros:
- Free dinners 4 times a week.
- Great atmosphere to make friends: possibility to sign up for a Flamenco show, a pub crawl and more events.
- Shared showers and bathrooms (more showers & bathrooms = less waiting time).
- Bathrooms are cleaned 3 times a day.
- Lockers underneath the beds for your items.
- A good-sized shelf in the bed for your items like your cell phone, your earphones and your water bottle.
- There are laptops at your disposal to work in the common room.
- Spacious kitchen if you want to cook.
Cons:
- As of November 2023, the washer and dryer are broken.
- You can’t rent a towel.
- No bed curtains in the dorm rooms ( no privacy while sleeping).
Malaga: The Lights Hostel – 8.6★ on Hostelworld
My stay: from November 29 to December 1 2022.
Price: €49 for 2 nights, so €24.5/per night (36$ Canadian/per night).
Location: The Lights Hostel is located on Calle torregorda 3, Malaga, España.
Pros:
- Free sangria every night.
- Great dinner for only €5 every night.
- Comfortable bed.
- Roof terrace and balconies with views over the Semana Santa.
- Free towel (with a safety deposit).
- Free use of hairdryer and hair straighteners.
- AC for the summer.
- Lockers underneath the beds for your items.
- Bed curtains for your privacy!!
- A good-sized basket in the bed for your items like your cell phone, your earphones and your water bottle.
- Big kitchen if you want to cook.
- Located in the center.
Cons:
- I don’t see this as a con, but some people do: this hostel is more on the cozy vibe and less of a party hostel.
- Being in the center, it is noisy because of all the street action.
- Beds are unstable and make noise when you go up or down your bunk bed.
Grenada: Eco Hostel – 9.5★ on Hostelworld
My stay: from December 1 to December 4 2022.
Price: €67 for 3 nights, so €22/per night (33$ Canadian/per night).
Location: Eco Hostel is located on Gran Via 53, Entrada.
Pros:
- Great localization, right in the heart of Grenada.
- The staff was amazing.
- Spacious coworking space.
- Cinema room.
- Social atmosphere during the day and quiet at night.
- Great activities are organized by the hostel like the pub crawl and the walking tour.
- Clean facilities.
- Free sangria.
Cons:
- The door to my dorm room was always unlocked, so anyone could get in.
- No bed curtains in the dorm rooms ( no privacy while sleeping).
- Small locker for your items.
- The kitchen only opens at 8 a.m. (not practical if you need to leave early).
Madrid: Way Hostel Madrid – 9.5★ on Hostelworld
My stay: from December 4 to December 6 2022.
Price: €39 for 2 nights, so €19.5/per night (29$ Canadian/per night).
Location: Eco Hostel is located on Calle Relatores 17, Madrid, Espagne.
Pros:
- Free coffee and churros in the morning.
- One of the cleanest hostels I stayed in.
- Easy access to the metro at Tirso de Molins.
- Walking distance to the principal activities in Madrid.
- Lockers underneath the beds for your items.
- Lots of daily activities like pub crawl, and beer pong.
- Bed curtains for privacy!
- Free luggage storage.
Cons:
- Common areas close at 11 p.m.
- The kitchen is small, so it can get very busy in the evening.
Barcelona: Jacobs Inn Barcelona – 9★ on Hostelworld
My stay: from January 3 to January 5 2023.
Price: €81 for 5 nights, so €16/per night (24$ Canadian/per night).
Location: Jacobs Inn Barcelona is located on Carrer de l’Amistat 21, Barcelone, Espagne.
Pros:
- 500m from the beach.
- 5 minutes walk from the metro station, Poblenou.
- AC in the bedrooms.
- Bed curtains for your privacy!
- Lockers underneath the beds for your personal items.
- Spacious and fully equipped kitchen.
- The rooms are clean.
- Comfortable beds.
- Laundry is available for a reasonable price.
Cons:
- You cannot drink alcohol in the hostel.
- I don’t see this as a con, but some people do: this hostel is more on the cozy vibe and less of a party hostel.
- The location is a bit further from the city center (45 minutes walk).
- The showers could be cleaned more often.
