While it handled most of the route without any issues, everything changed once we reached one of the steepest climbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our scooter simply <strong>didn&#8217;t have enough power<\/strong> to carry both of us uphill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It gradually lost speed until it <strong>stopped completely<\/strong>. Before we had time to react, it began rolling backwards, and we ended up gently tipping over onto the side of the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thankfully, neither of us was badly injured (couple of scratches), and several incredibly kind locals immediately stopped to help us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One local even drove one of us to the top of the hill in his car while the other rode the scooter alone. It offers the perfect balance between sightseeing and relaxation while allowing you to discover a side of Bali that many travelers never experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"1-6\">6<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-8865bef9 gb-headline-text\"><strong>Getting Around Lovina<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the things we loved most about Lovina is how easy it is to explore the surrounding region.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many of North Bali&#8217;s top attractions are located within a 15 to 60-minute drive, making Lovina an excellent base for day trips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>Location d'un scooter<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Renting a scooter is the most popular and affordable way to explore Lovina and North Bali.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Daily rental prices typically range from <strong>70,000 to 120,000 IDR ($6-10 CAD)<\/strong> depending on the model and rental duration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, like previously mentioned in our \u201cHow to Get There\u201d section, there&#8217;s one important thing we&#8217;d recommend based on our own experience:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Don&#8217;t rent a small scooter like a Honda Scoopy if you plan on exploring beyond Lovina.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">North Bali has far more steep mountain roads than we expected. During one of our rides, our scooter actually lost power while climbing a particularly steep hill. It rolled backward, and we ended up falling over at low speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you plan on visiting waterfalls, viewpoints, or driving through the mountains, we strongly recommend renting a <strong>more powerful scooter<\/strong>, especially if two people will be riding together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>Hiring a Private Driver<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you&#8217;re not comfortable riding a scooter, hiring a private driver is another excellent option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many drivers offer full-day tours around North Bali, allowing you to visit several attractions in one day without worrying about navigation or road conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>Walking Around Lovina<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lovina itself is relatively easy to explore on foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many restaurants, caf\u00e9s, accommodations, and Lovina Beach are within walking distance, especially if you&#8217;re staying near the beachfront.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"1-7\">7<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-cba20d8e gb-headline-text\"><strong>Where to Eat in Lovina : Our Restaurant Recommendations<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One thing we didn&#8217;t expect before arriving in Lovina was how many great caf\u00e9s and restaurants we would find. Whether you&#8217;re looking for a cozy breakfast spot, fresh seafood by the beach, healthy vegetarian food, or a restaurant with an unforgettable view, Lovina has something for every type of traveler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are a few of our favorite places, along with a couple of popular recommendations we would love to try on a future visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Buda Bakery &amp; Resto<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our favorite restaurant in Lovina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We ended up eating here twice because the menu is so varied, offering everything from Indonesian dishes and Western meals to homemade pastries and excellent coffee.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s a great choice at any time of day, whether you&#8217;re stopping by for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>COFFEENOSKY<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the best caf\u00e9s in Lovina, especially for the view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the street it looks quite simple, but the terrace overlooks beautiful rice fields and mountains, making it a wonderful place for breakfast, brunch, or an afternoon coffee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sea Breeze Lovina<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you&#8217;re looking for a beachfront dinner, Sea Breeze is one of the most popular choices in town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s the perfect place to enjoy fresh seafood, cocktails, and one of Lovina&#8217;s beautiful sunsets while dining just steps from the ocean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>AKAR Caf\u00e9<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AKAR Caf\u00e9 is a fantastic option for anyone looking for healthy, vegetarian, or vegan meals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The menu focuses on fresh ingredients and colorful dishes, making it one of the best breakfast and lunch spots in Lovina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Hanging Restaurant &amp; Bar<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As will be mentioned <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"#2-1\" title=\"below in this article\">below in this article<\/a><\/span>, Hanging Restaurant &amp; Bar, located about an hour from Lovina near Sekumpul Waterfall, offers one of the most spectacular restaurant views we&#8217;ve ever experienced in Bali.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you&#8217;re planning to visit Sekumpul Waterfall, we highly recommend combining both experiences into the same day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-32868f91 gb-headline-text\"><strong>Caf\u00e9 Leo &amp; Loaf Life<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although we didn&#8217;t have time to visit these ourselves, both caf\u00e9s are frequently recommended by travelers for their excellent coffee, fresh pastries, and delicious brunch menus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They&#8217;re great options if you&#8217;re planning to spend a few mornings caf\u00e9 hopping around Lovina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"1-8\">8<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-d7032390 gb-headline-text\"><strong>Best Things to Do in Lovina: A Quick Overview<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the reasons we enjoyed staying in <strong>Lovina<\/strong> is that there is much more to do than simply taking a dolphin tour.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the town itself has a relaxed atmosphere, it&#8217;s also the perfect base for exploring some of <strong>North Bali&#8217;s most beautiful waterfalls, temples, hot springs, and scenic viewpoints<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether you&#8217;re spending two days or nearly a week in the area, you&#8217;ll find plenty of activities within an easy drive from Lovina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of the highlights include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Join an Ethical Dolphin Watching Tour<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lovina is famous for its sunrise dolphin tours, where wild dolphins can often be seen swimming just offshore. It&#8217;s one of the most unique cultural attractions in North Bali.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"2-1\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Have Lunch with an Incredible View<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of our favorite discoveries was <strong>Hanging Restaurant &amp; Bar<\/strong>, a hidden restaurant overlooking the lush valley near Sekumpul Waterfall.
