See Views from the SkyPark Observation Deck

This is the view you’ve probably seen all over Instagram.

The SkyPark Observation Deck, located 56 storeys up from the center of the Marina Bay area, offers some of the best skyline views in Singapore.

Once you’re up there, the city feels almost unreal. You’ll see Gardens by the Bay right below you, the water reflecting the skyline, and the entire city stretching into the distance. It’s the kind of place where you’ll want to stay longer than expected, just watching the city change colors.

Opening hours

Daily: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Ticket prices

From a standard observation deck ticket to a food combo or a more curated experience, several options are available for your visit.

Prices vary depending on the type of experience you choose.

For more details on inclusions, pricing, and availability, visit the official Marina Bay Sands website.

Visitation tips

  • Go right before sunset for the best experience
  • Stay until after dark, it’s worth it

2

Watch the Spectra Light & Water Show (Free)

Right at the base of Marina Bay Sands, this free show combines lights, music, and water effects with the skyline as a backdrop.

It could be one of those simple moments on your trip, sitting by the water at night, watching the city come alive.

3

Step Into the Cloud Forest (Gardens by the Bay)

Walking into Cloud Forest feels like stepping into a completely different climate.

The first thing you’ll notice is the massive waterfall crashing down from above, surrounded by lush greenery and mist. The air is cool, slightly humid, and refreshing, a break from Singapore’s heat.

You’ll take an elevator up and slowly walk down through elevated paths, with views over the entire space. It’s immersive, calm, and honestly one of the most unique indoor experiences you can have.

4

Wander Through the Flower Dome

The Flower Dome is bright, open, and filled with seasonal floral displays from around the world. It changes throughout the year, so every visit feels a little different.

It’s slower-paced, peaceful, and perfect if you want to just walk around and take it all in.

Opening hours

  • 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Ticket prices

Flower Dome + Cloud Forest (most common ticket): ~S$46 (adult, non-resident)

The Flower Dome During Chinese New Year

Our personal opinion: If you’re on a tight budget, consider visiting only the Cloud Forest, it felt more impressive and worth the splurge. But if budget isn’t an issue, we’d absolutely recommend visiting both.

5

Experience the Supertree Grove at Night

During the day, the Supertrees already look impressive, but at night, they turn into something else entirely.

The light show transforms the entire area into a glowing, almost dreamlike space. Music plays while the trees light up in sync, and most people just sit or lie on the ground to watch.

It’s one of those moments that feels very “Singapore”.

Opening hours

  • Grove: 5:00 AM – 2:00 AM
  • Light show: 7:45 PM & 8:45 PM

Price

  • Free to enter but you can access the Skywalk for about S$10

6

Explore Chinatown (Culture + Food)

Chinatown is busy, colorful, and full of contrasts, traditional temples, street markets, and modern cafés all side by side.

It’s also one of the best places to try local food without spending much.

What to do in Singapore’s Chinatown

  • Visit Buddha Tooth Relic Temple

This is one of the most impressive temples in Singapore, both visually and culturally. The exterior is grand and traditional, but once inside, you’ll find multiple levels filled with intricate details, prayer halls, and exhibitions.

The atmosphere is calm and respectful, with locals and visitors quietly exploring or praying.

Opening hours: Daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Price: It is free to enter

  • Walk Through Chinatown Street Market

This is where Chinatown feels the most lively. The streets are lined with stalls selling souvenirs, clothing, accessories, and small local items.

It’s busy, colorful, and a great place to experience the energy of the neighborhood.

Opening hours: Daily ~10:00 AM – 10:00 PM (varies by vendor)

It’s perfect for picking up affordable souvenirs and experiencing the more traditional, market-style side of Singapore.

  • Eat at Maxwell Food Centre

One of the most famous hawker centres in Singapore, known for its variety of local dishes at very affordable prices.

You’ll find everything from chicken rice to noodles and fresh juices, all in a casual, local setting.

Opening hours: Daily 8:00 AM – 2:00 AM (some stalls close earlier)

Price: meals are typically S$5-10 (note that most vendors are cash only)

If you want to try authentic Singaporean food without spending much, this is one of the best places to do it. It’s popular with both locals and tourists, which is always a good sign.

7

Walk Around Arab Street & Haji Lane

This area feels completely different from the rest of Singapore.

Haji Lane is full of colorful walls, small boutiques, and trendy cafés, while Arab Street has a more cultural feel with textiles and traditional shops. The Sultan Mosque adds a beautiful focal point to the area.

It’s one of the most aesthetic neighborhoods in the city.

Nightlife in Haji Lane & Arab Street

At night, this area completely transforms.

Haji Lane fills up with people, music spills out of bars, and the entire street becomes a mix of locals, expats, and travelers.

Most places are compact, which makes the whole street feel social and interactive. It’s easy to move from one spot to another and discover new places as you go.

Opening hours

  • Most bars: ~5:00 PM till late (1:00-2:00 AM)

Just steps away from Haji Lane, Arab Street offers a slightly more relaxed atmosphere, with bars and restaurants that often have outdoor seating.

You’ll find places where you can sit back, enjoy a drink, and take in views of the illuminated Sultan Mosque, which looks especially beautiful at night.

Opening hours

  • Most spots: ~4:00 PM till late

8

Visit Merlion Park

Quick stop, but iconic.

The Merlion statue overlooking Marina Bay is one of those “you have to see it at least once” places, especially at sunset.

Click here to take a look.

9

Ride the Singapore Flyer

A slow, panoramic ride in a glass capsule with views over the entire city.

It’s quieter and more relaxed than SkyPark, perfect if you want a more peaceful experience.

Price: ~S$40-50

It isn’t really an affordable activity for travellers on a budget.
